The Mozart Conspiracy by Scott Mariani

Image
Absolutely in the spirit of the first book. Scott Mariani dives us in another death hunt where a secret society rules underhand and doesn't like... obstacles. That usually means an intruder or witness who must be taken care of(and we all know how this kind of people deal with "obstacles").
There're at least three different covers! But I think this one is the best, it suits the series. I like the idea of the partly transparent background, it's light and nice. Besides, there'are different elements in the whole image as the running man, the eye, the cloaked figure. It makes sense and it looks good - what else can I want?
It looks like there's a new mystery for Ben Hope to solve but this time is the death of a close friend. Oliver Llewellyn has died in a very ridiculous incident back in January. Yet, neither detective Marcus Kinski nor Ben Hope thinks it's an incident at all.
I'm always impressed how the author combines the characteristics of thi…

October Wrap Up

Image
Well, yeah, that's a bit of a late wrap up set with a previous date(oops). I just realised this is my first wrap up in this blog, wow. And 10 reviews, that's cool. So, let's get to the point.

1. The Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter

Reyes, however strange he sounds to me (I prefer Race), has the Pain. In order not to weaken his power, he constantly has to "feed" his demon through pain - on himself or... Read More

2. The Darkest Whisper by Gena Showalter

This book ranks second in attracting my interest in the series. It is about Sabin, the Doubt warrior. He can... Read More

The fifth book is about Aeron. He has the Wrath, which is totally uncontrollable if left to act. That's why I... Read More

The Darkest Craving

“What’s my sign? Cancer.”
- Torin, Lord of the Underworld

Torin's demon for him is like a curse because he has the worst of all others - Disease. Every time he touches someone, he causes illness and death, there may even be a world outbreak. He was the cause of the Black Death * in the Middle Ages because he touched a peasant girl.
Now, I really like this cover. Gray is very good for the background, and the man looks great. Also made with white hair because Torin itself has white hair and green eyes, a very interesting combination in my opinion. And the gloves in the hand are also in full resemblance to those he usually wear to not touch anyone.
Before I read the book about him, he was one of my favourites because of his unusual appearance, but after that I lost i…

The Darkest Seduction

“I’ve been told I’m almost as dangerous as a tsunami.”
- Kane, Lord of the Underworld

“I’ve been told I’m a tsunami.”
- Josephina Aisling

Kane may have one of the most terrible demons - Disaster. With him, he has no contact, and he is more than evil, he is a monster. It can cause any disasters, global catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods, and so on. Unlike the other Lords who communicate with their demons, Kane has never done it with his own, because it is purely IMPOSSIBLE.
This is the third yellow cover. While the others were a little lighter, that's pretty sparkling yellow. I like the yellow, but only if it is a bright and fresh lemon colour, and this one is not that far.   When he falls in love with Josephine and goes to her world to save her from her own royal family, the demon doe…

The Darkest Surrender

At first, I liked Paris quite a lot, but then I lost interest in him. He was a playboy and a female man, and I loved him much until he fell in love with a human woman who was by chance Hunter and served as Bait for him to be captured but was murdered lately. And I totally lost interest in his otherwise so interesting picture before.
The cover is attractive, there is no dispute. It is entirely up to the title, but it is not really the case. The book tells only how Paris finds and frees her from the place where Cronus holds her, and that is far from seductive. But the black background and these wings in the back look very good.
Because Paris possesses Promiscuity, he needs every day to be with a different woman, otherwise, his demon weakens, hence himself. And it's not able to be the same twice, she no longer …

The Alchemist's Secret by Scott Mariani

Image
After a whole month without reading a single book, I've decided to start reading on the bus (I use it twice a day which makes almost an hour spent wandering through the window.) So, it's something, after all, I may finish the books a little slower but I'll be reading (I was afraid the next time I'm reading a book would've been at Christmas holiday!) Last week when I came up with this statement, I opened my folder with ebooks and I'd already known I wanted to read a thriller and I settled on Ben Hope's series. And I don't regret at all.
Wow, quite a nice cover, I like it. Some mist and mystery(there's even a rhyme!) and the running man - very appropriate.
The Alchemist's Secret wasn't like anything I've read before. It's pretty different unusual. Ben Hope is an ex-SAS soldier which is so cool, I like professional warriors. He reminded me a bit of Eddie Chase (Nina Wilde & Eddie Chase series by Andy McDermott) due to his prof…

Disney Princess Sidekicks Book Tag

Image
I was a bit bored and wanted something new and I've just seen this tag in Nut Free Nerd's blog and quite liked it. It's quite different and exactly what it wanted - what a shame! So happy to do it and tag anyone who wants to do it (please, share your posts with me, I wanna see your answers!). I wasn't tagged but anyway, I'd love to do it, so let's start.

Mushu from Mulan

{The Comic Relief – Name your favourite hilarious character or your favourite comedy/funny book}

Nina Wilde & Eddie Chase by Andy McDermott series, especially Eddie! This character's so hilarious, I can't stop laughing while reading these books. He's the best ever.

The Seven Dwarfs from Snow White

{Favorite Group/Ensemble}

The Shadowhunters! I definitely would love to be part of them(ah, why does not fantasy exist for real?! It'd be hundreds, no thousand times better, it's such a boring ordinary world).

Pascal from Tangled

{The loyal cheerleader chameleon – Name a book that st…
