The Darkest Secret

Strider cannot lose a challenge without experiencing inhumane pain because he has the Demon of the Defeat. Overall, I like Strider a lot.
The cover is one of the yellow ones. I don't know why, but the colours used for all the covers are somewhat strange. They could have been more real and somewhat more varied, though three out of eleven are all yellowish.
Strider is ready for victory, yet there is reason enough to be. So when somebody talks, he has to choose his words very precisely so that the demon won't accept it as another competition he has to win at all costs.
Nothing can stand in the way between him and the victory, except maybe Kaia, the bigger sister of Gwendolin, also a harpy. She has a twin sister, Bianca, both of which are half-harps/half-phoenix, but Bianca's Phoenix is missing, unlike Kaia. She likes Strider…

The eighth book is about Amun, who holds the demon of Secrets. He can't say absolutely anything because as he speaks he reveals any dark secrets to the people around him.
The cover is a bit... frightening. The very way he stands is as if he's taken out of some horror movie. But I like the butterfly tattoo, it suits awfully well on his chest.
To save his friends, he has devoured too many inferior demons while in hell in order to save Legion from Lucifer. If you ask me, she deserved what happened to her. In addition, she caused so much trouble to Aeron, and it was supposed she loved him. If it's love to make your loved one suffer ... And now Amun is chained and his only way out is death until Heidee appears. Only she can save him. It is much more than an enemy and an ordinary person.
So they go back to hell to get the demons back where they belon…

Gideon can say nothing but a lie because he is cursed to have the demon of Lies. That's why I'm really sorry for him because sometimes it can be a real curse. It's so cruel to not being able to say what you think but the contrary of it.
The cover wasn't my favourite from the very beginning. I just... I can't perceive it, it's too strange to me. And let's not exclude that a very characteristic mark differs from the character, and nothing prevents us from working this essential detail with a little computer magic.
I was talking about the hair precisely because Gideon is painting his in brilliant neon blue, and it's obvious that this guy's hair is far from blue. I don't understand what he likes it this way, that color's so screaming. Yes, clearly, he wants to be different, but that's pretty grossly I would say.
  His friends are …

Fall Time, Cozzy Time Book Tag

Image
I saw this tag to spin around Google+ and I decided to do it because it's interesting and appropriate for the already advanced autumn. And this picture is all the more appropriate because it's cold outside, it's raining and the weekend is just like my plans - a cup of hot chocolate and a book. To be precise, I will use the tag I saw in The Quirky Book Nerd's blog.

1. Crunching Leaves: The world is full of colour. Choose a book that has reds, oranges, and yellows on the cover.

That's a bit of a problem, my books are always in dark or neutral nuances that I like, but this one is in the autumn theme.

The Copper Gauntlet by Cassandra Clare & Holly Black

2. Cozy Sweater: It’s finally cold enough to don warm, cozy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies.

Hmm, I have not read any such book yet. It would be a romance, I think of The Hating Game, I don't know, I just like it.

3. Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favourite book…

The fifth book is about Aeron. He has the Wrath, which is totally uncontrollable if left to act. That's why I don't like it so much, but with the demon, they have a connection and as strange as it may seem, it really exists and is strong.
In the cover, I like the blue-greenish colour as well as the look on the back of the man, but only to the neck, because from there on I don't like it.
Aaron has violet eyes, which is so cool, but also a short-cut soldier's hairstyle, which makes me feel angry about the lost beauty. But with him, I wouldn't use that epithet and explain why. His whole body is tattooed (even on the face) and it's rather repulsive, because I may like tattoos, but as long as they are few and meaningful, not another skin painting. Well, his are connected to everyone he killed, so my argument of meaninglessness loses its value, but still, I don't like him b…

This book ranks second in attracting my interest in the series. It is about Sabin, the Doubt warrior. He can whisper contradictory thoughts in the minds of all, with whom he seeds trouble and doubt, the food for his demon.
I like the cover, this purple hue is very nice, just as I like it. But if the man had a long hair, it would all be perfect, but alas, there's no full happiness.
In search of the four relics necessary for the discovery of Pandora's box in order to destroy it, which is the only way for demons to be defeated. However, if they are detached from the Lords, they couldn't exist by themselves because they are related to the Lords and their life depends on them. I quite deviated; so, Sabin encounters something unusual. The first artefact they possess is the All-seeing Eye, which sees in the past, the present and the future, in practice it isn't an object, but... #spoiler In a desert pyramid,…

Reyes, however strange he sounds to me (I prefer Race), has the Pain. In order not to weaken his power, he constantly has to "feed" his demon through pain - on himself or the rest. Really awful demon if you ask me.
The cover is... well pretty yellow and as many times as look at it, it seems strange to me. The man isn't bad, it's obvious, and it is obvious that the butterfly this time is in another place, of course. Everyone has the same, but at a different spot on the body.
He is very much in love with Danika, a girl who, together with her mother, sister and grandmother, are in danger as Aeron is ordered to kill them, and this will bring him to madness as he doesn't want to do it, but his demon Wrath, wishing only wasting and violence, forces him to kill the four innocent women. Another stupid order of... doesn't matter, someone.
Overall, this murder is pretty dramatic all the time, and you really want it to en…
